Re: Porteus Desktop Edition 3.0 rc1 bugs/feedback thread
Want more bugs? Here you are. :) 1. Black screen in Gnome-Mplayer while playing WebM. The only cure is to press the down key at the start, only then I can see the video. 2. When I copy files from one folder to another, it says smth about permission bug. In Thunar I have the setting "Apply to the fol...

This doesn't work either, I checked.Ahau wrote:For now, you can set the wallpaper by right clicking on the desktop and click to open the dialog to change desktop settings.
Also mplayer doesn't play sound in WMV.

Re: Porteus Desktop Edition 3.0 rc1 bugs/feedback thread
Hello and thanks for the new version to test.
So far I've found one bug: I can't change the desktop wallpaper without rebooting.
Specs: Porteus XFCE, frugal HDD installation, both fresh mode and "saved changes" mode.

Re: Feedback and Bug Reports for Porteus v2.1 RC1
1) I'm not able to reproduce this on my end, are you using saved changes (perhaps saved changes from an earlier version?) or any extra modules? Does it work for one user but not another, or does it work for one session and then fail on a different boot, or is it completely random when it fails? Nex...

Re: Feedback and Bug Reports for Porteus v2.1 RC1
And now about the XFCE version. 1. The HDD and the SD of my EeePC 701 are not shown in Thunar. (And, of course, all the necessary flags are checked!) I've found a workaround for this - to manually create a shortcut for the folder (like, /mnt/sdb1) and place it on the desktop. This works, but this do...

Re: Feedback and Bug Reports for Porteus v2.1 RC1
Hi guys and thanks a lot for the new version. So far I've tested the LXDE version. Here are some issues that I've found: 1. The "Home" folder on the desktop often doesn't work. 2. The window size in PCManFM opens each time unmaximized, no matter if you maximize it manually or not. 3. Gnome-MPlayer s...

SMPlayer is very needed for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Thanks a lot.

Re: Porteus-XCFE v1.2 rc2 i486 is ready for testing!
Just for a change I copied Porteus from the USB stick onto my hard drive - and when I logged in, the SD card ion was displayed properly (and still is)! Quite strange, but good anyway.
I also decided to leave the notifications for a while, as I wouldn't like to mess with the system like that.

Re: Porteus-XCFE v1.2 rc2 i486 is ready for testing!
The issue with the sound was solved! I only had to launch alsamixer and set "Speaker" to 100%, along with the Master volume. In the older version of Porteus there is no "Speaker" entry in alsamixer... Quite strange. Thanks Ahau! Haven't tried other things yet, will report back as soon as I have. And...

Re: Porteus-XCFE v1.2 rc2 i486 is ready for testing!
Hi guys, Thanks for the new RC. The XFCE edition is pretty cool. It supports the hardware of my Asus EEE PC 701 out of the box, which only such distros as Ubuntu and Mint could do! I wonder if it is the new kernel or what? Still, I'd like to report quite a number of bugs. I'm using a live-USB instal...

I'd like to see TurboPrint (it's an incredible pack of printer drivers) and DoubleCommander or smth else similar to TotalCommander.

Well, I have nothing against UTF-8, but if you're using Windows most of the time and have to carry your files between computers with different operating systems, you have no choice.fanthom wrote: time for switching to ru_RU.UTF-8
