I think the blacklisting of nouveau should be part of the created 08-nvidia module. the nvidia-settings initially failed for m...

[HOWTO] make a xzm module driver for NVIDIA video card

Either way, the user has the opportunity to backup/rename files before the update is actually installed....

Lol ... both of your links -- postimg.cc and postimage.org
redirect to the real url: https://postimages.org
You know, I could have mentioned that. I choose postimg.cc since it is the shortest of the 3 variants.

Porteus-v5.01 bug reports

the updates are meant to accessed via the updater in the settings centre. I prefer to download it manually since I do want to keep the recent files as backup. the dropdown menu links the the release announcement (although it needs to be updated to 5.01) which has the mirrors link .. the big 'downlo...

WORK-IN-PROGRESS - Xfce4 terminal: how to correctly set $TERM to xterm-256color

Now I run a newer Porteus version than above, but the error is still the same.
In XFCE -xfce4-terminal -

Code: Select all

guest@rava:/$ echo $TERM
xterm-256color
but still, mc tells me my terminal has not 256 colours. :wall:
