Re: [Solved] Remote desktop, where are you?
Tried the .desktop way as described in the link you provided, but had some problems. If I'm not wrong you can shoot only one command in this way. So that command had to be a script including the other commands. Well, for some reason I couldn't get the desired result :wall: (note that I'm not a speci...

Re: [Near to be Solved] Remote desktop, where are you?
Now that 1.2 is running on that machine, with a nice lxde desktop (I always used kde before) I'm planning even to unplug and remove the monitor but here begins the trouble: can't find a way to start some services I need (the mentioned krfb or something similar and a simple ftp server) at boot. If I ...

Re: Remote desktop, where are you?
Thank you admin, both work fine. The viewer ir useless indeed, I connect by a win box or an android phone or tablet. The server does its job after learning to pass some parameters; running AS IS it only accepts the first connection, and after a logout automatically stops the task; must specify at le...

[Solved] Remote desktop, where are you?
Well, a newbye question needs to be in its own section. Some days ago I needed to revive an old practice to take a look to another pc running Porteus with ftp and dlna servers in another floor, and started hacking on it. Soon I realized it couldn't be done in the usual way by remote desktop; the fea...

Re: Pidgin module
8 modules, 12.8 MB of which 9.2 MB pidgin itself. Note that it isn't a system crash, only a procedure crash, I'll post the error asap. create_inode: failed to create symlink /mnt/sda1/porteus/porteus/modules/pidgin/tmp/usr/lib/libenchant.so, because Operation not permitted create_inode: failed to cr...

Re: Pidgin module
This left out one dependency I can't remember, if you want I can try and repeat the process. Solved instead with a fanthom suggestion from the chat, using the package manager. Anyway, the last step of merging downloaded modules crashed with some error regarding permissions, so I keep all them in a f...

Pidgin module
Downloaded from the official repository and doesn't work.
Tried in a terminal and:
error loading shared libraries: libgstreamer-0.10.so.0
or something like this.
Any idea?

Re: [Solved] Teamviewer for 1.x_32
Didn't know about this feature, anyway it's useless for my purpose now. I should provide a couple of laptops for aged/not skilled people, and I want to assure remote mainteinance. So, the problem is in the other side of the wires, where I only can count on hardware and network both working well. In ...

Re: Teamviewer for 1.x_32
guttaslax , look at this repo: http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/index.aspx Thanks Blaze, but It's just the one I was speaking about. Posted after 13 minutes 25 seconds: I made a module for you. 1) Download 2) Install it 3) Run it via terminal ..cut... This seems to work as expected. thanks, I'...

Re: Teamviewer for 1.x_32
Mmmm... it includes a whole wine environment...
I've wine configured and running for some stuffs, maybe I can try directly the "quick support" version for win, without trashing my other things.
Thanks anyway for the hint.
EDIT
No, mine was not a good idea.
