I went through a time of playing with appimage thinking it was a great idea. Not as reliable as the concept leads one to believe. I found more that didn't work than worked.

Have you tried just applying the patch from Neko's module and seeing if it boots?

BTW please upload logs to pastebin for easier viewing.

There may be a more usable error in /var/log/Xorg

Have you tried booting into text mode and running cache-module before running startx?

I'd need a system information dump to troubleshoot your problem.
